International Building Exhibition (IBA) 'Fürst Pückler Land'

- transformation of a former mining area
The Fürst Pückler Land International Building Exhibition began in 2000 and has accompanied the transformation from former mining area to multifunctional lakeland region, developing concepts and visions for the 'new' landscape. Thirty projects have either been implemented or are in progress. The project culminates in 2010, and 24 April marks the start of a very special series of events in the form of the 'Paradise 2' art project. A number of fascinating tours are also available.

EuroSpeedway is one of Europe's most modern motorsport and entertainment venues. Get close up to live motorsport events such as the German Touring Car Masters (DTM), the IDM superbike championships and this year's highlight, the Red Bull Air Race. Branitz Park, the second major life's work of Prince Hermann von Pückler-Muskau, is widely regarded as the pinnacle of German landscape gardening and is also the last German landscaped garden of the 19th century. One of its most unusual features are the two pyramids. The multimedia exhibition in the visitor centre provides an insight into the life and work of the landscape gardener, writer and traveller.

Ten thousand roses - more than 700 varieties - set within a glorious landscaped park complete with artistic sculptures, pergolas and romantic fountains. Voted "Germany's most beautiful park 2009', the Rose Garden is a lovely place to relax and spend some time. The park also boasts an excellent café-restaurant and prestige cultural events, such as the Rose Garden Festival which takes place each year at the end of June.
